Gameplay Requests

I just started playing Mage Guild and I think it has a lot of promise. I have played a lot of NetHack in my day and find this is a good addition to the genre.

I have reached level five and feel I understand the elements involved to go deeper.

The one big detail that I find repeatedly gets me killed is the fact that you cannot see on screen all that you can see (and be attacked by) on the level. This is coupled with the need to get to the outer edges of the screen to get it to recenter the view.

I suggest the following:
1. constant centering as the player moves through the level.
2. a threat arrow or some other marker that points out creatures visible to the character but not to the player.
3. (or possibly) an area map on the main screen that shows perhaps twice the area on the main map.

It is time consuming to use the "M" command to scout out areas esp. with the high death rate.

Actually, I've got a minimap feature that's been sitting half-implemented for a while now. I'll finish that up and include it.

When I play w/ graphics, it is with a 16x16 tileset. Without graphics, I turn the display font size down to 10 or even 8 depending on the monitor. The default settings are too-zoomed in for me!
