Idea: Themetic "bonus" levels

The idea is simple: create "secret" entrances to thematic locations, depending on which archmage you chose to go with. How these entrances are hidden, I'm not sure. However, instead of a level sphere, players are awarded items that you would otherwise would need to create with the Token of Ath.

The types should exist: General, stuff that can be randomly generated and specific that are always the same.

General type should have a boss creature.
Specific type requires you to solve a puzzle.

Sateja
General: Lots of elemental tiles with mists, delvers and dragons. Bosses would be elemantals.
Specific: Focuses on one element, usually provide some protection from that element.

Nhuz
General: Eyes, motes, doppelgänger with razor and time fiends. Bosses would be somewhat-lovecraftian Terrors From Out of Time. Tiles that teleport you around, and slow or speed you up once or twice.
Specific: Either gives you astronomical puzzles (in nature, not in size) or time related one, meaning that you would have to make some sort of time travel to complete the riddle.

Ath
General: Golems and knights all the way trough. Bossess would be grand constructs, large robots essentially. Lots of fountains, including traps.
Specific: Focuses on moral questions (should one sin against god/princible or man?) and the question of virtues.

Mhiu
General: Undead creatures obviously. Graveyard environment, where an accidentally destroyed piece of furniture will cause an undead creature of one sort or another to rise. Traps in the form of graverobbing. Bosses would be some sorts of guardians of the dead.
Specific: Puzzles relating to the causes of death and how people treat life. Whodoneit murder puzzles would be nifty, where the player solve .

Luxano:
General: Impressive tiles that have illusionary walls and lots of hidden trickery. Various spirits as enemies. Have no idea what would be an ideal boss.
Specific: More abstract puzzles, like simpler mathematics and geometry.

Any ideas?

I'd love to introduce some

I'd love to introduce some more varied content, and I'd love to introduce more things that change the game based on your choice of Archmage. You can expect something along these lines to exist in 2.0. Now, what form that'll take, I'm not entirely sure.

I've thought about introducing a mini-boss-level midway through the dungeon. I've also thought about including the possibility of dropping the occasional special down staircase (marked by an announcement when you enter the level, like the current special rooms) that leads to a special level instead of to the next floor. Completing the special level would then get you the stairs to the next floor, plus some loot.

Again, what this shapes up into, I'm not sure. I definitely like some of those ideas, particularly Nhuz having Lovecraftian horrors at his disposal.
