Let's have our first map-making competition. It's rather simple: create an alternative version of the finishing archmage battle!
You may choose whichever archmage map to recreate as you wish. Since we are so few here, there are no judges, no ratings, etc.
However, I'd like to write down some submission guidelines to keep this neat.
In-forum
- Map must be a scenario.
- You must tell which archmage you made a scenario of.
- Post a link and description of your work here as well as the standard submission form.
- You may update or modify your scenario at a later date.
In-scenario
-Player must have access to full-level potential power (that is, 15 school points and 8 perks, as if they done the 14 levels proper) that the player may choose freely from. Giving starting items are recommended but optional.
- No school and perk restrictions. The idea is to create something that you can put at the end of the vanilla game.
Advice
- Keep fair. Generally, don't make the scenario that much harder than the original game. No dick moves, no instant-death traps and no impossible odds.
- Bugs will be pointed out and mocked. And I don't mean insects. That is, please bug-test your maps.
- Try to keep all puzzles in-game. Its fine if you want to include, say, a passage from the Bible as a solution to the puzzle, but then you must include that passage from the Bible, preferably available to the player at all times (or at least, when its needed). The same principle applies for anything that you reasonable would have to alt-tab away from the game from.
- Also, the player cannot allowed to be stuck because they solved a puzzle incorrectly. If possible and needed, add a reset button.
